Rose Bay House
The house sits on the top of a rock outcrop with panoramic views over the city skyline. The main entrance includes a glazed wrought iron door where the side panels can be opened for breezes whilst maintaining security. The original staircase to the sandstone basement was extended with changes to the balustrade and wrought iron giving it an updated look. The swimming pool was reconfigured and all ground floor rooms in the house open out to this pool area. Juliette balconies were added and extra bedrooms designed with shutters to deflect the afternoon sun, opening at the top with hinges and with sub sashes to be flush to slide into the cavities so that no curtains were needed in the house.
